2009 Spring Baseball Season. Below is a list of the upcoming events:
November 15th – Coaches meeting
November 22nd – (at the weight room, 10:00 am) A mandatory fundraising meeting for all players that are going to try out for the 2009 season. We are going to try a new fundraiser this year. Parents need to attend if possible. Dominic East will be heading up our Booster Club this year and will be sending out more information on this event. We need parents who want to help out and be in the Booster Club to contact Coach East. 970-412-7743
November 17th – December- Coaches will be opening up the weight room 3 days a week to come in and lift and do some hitting work. Tee’s, short toss, and other drills. Those days will discussed at the Coaches meeting on the 15th. We will have those days sent out and placed on the website once they have been established.
Jan – Feb 17th – Non mandatory workouts at least 3 days a week.
Feb 17th - Try Outs for the 2009 Baseball season.
Feb 19th – Teams will be announced and practice begins.
I am currently working on the order form for the season. I will have this ready for all on the 22nd. It will list and have a picture of every item that our program offers with pricing. The earlier we get this out and turned back in, the earlier we can get things ordered and we do not have to worry about anything else but baseball come February 17th.
We are always looking for Corporate Sponsors so if you know anyone that would like to support the program financially, please visit the website and download a sponsorship letter. The following items are what we need to fundraise for this year…
* Coaches Salaries (The district only pays for 3 coaches, we have 6 maybe 7)
* New Varsity away jerseys
* 2 New L screens
* 2 New large square screens
* Cage balls for pitching machine
* Pitching Mound materials
* Protection for the Iron Mike (outside pitching machine)
* Shelter/dug out type area in the compound for the players to put there gear while at practice.
* 6 New fungos (Coaches practice bats)
* LHS Baseball Hall of Fame Board for the batting cage.
* Indoor cage maintenance and improvements.
