Loveland High School Baseball – Board and Booster Club Meeting Minutes

November 7, 2006

Coaches Present:

Coach Bakersky and Coach East

Officers Present:

Laurie East, President

Cindy Posegate, Treasurer

Brenda Orndorff, Secretary

President, Laurie East called the meeting to order.

Secretary, Brenda Orndorff, gave a brief summary of the minutes of the last meeting held on September 26, 2006.

Treasurer, Cindy Posegate, handed out and reviewed the Treasurer’s report.  She also reported that 56 golfers participated in the golf tournament.

Budget:

Coach Bakersky handed out and reviewed in detail the 2006-2007 projected budget and expenditures.

Fund Raisers:

Additional future fund raising options were discussed.  Coach Bakersky is hoping for a good response and proceeds from the upcoming November 9^th dinner and silent auction.  In addition, volunteers and assignments were finalized for this event.  Players volunteering should wear polo shirts if they have them.  It was determined that continuing to raise small amounts of money throughout the year is a viable means of building our accounts.  Some suggestions were collecting aluminum cans, which was agreed upon.  Joe Schweitzer will coordinate this effort.  Other ideas included playing a varsity game at Coors Field and selling tickets for same; playing a 100-inning inning baseball marathon; hosting a baseball clinic by our players for little league baseball players; and a mass team garage sale.

Proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will go for a general purpose that will benefit all athletes.  There is a possibility that there may be some updating to the weight room possibly including new flooring.  The coaches will vote to determine what will be done.  

Purchase:

Coach Bakersky recommended that a new net and baseballs be purchased with the proceeds from the golf tournament.  Brenda Orndorff moved to purchase the net and baseballs.  Cindy Posegate seconded the motion.  Motion carried.  Coach Bakersky commended those who worked on the golf tournament.

Gear Orders:

Coach Bakersky reported that jackets have been ordered and many have indicated a desire for sweat pants.  He will most likely order more at a cost of $15 each.

League Schedules:

League schedules for spring were handed out.  All players should register on the website.

Tryouts:

The date for tryouts for the spring season is February 21, 2007.

Email Laurie East if you have any items you would like included on the agenda.

Next Meeting:

Brenda Orndorff moved that there be no meeting in December.  Dominique East seconded the motion.  Motion carried.  The date of the next meeting was not set.  President, Laurie East will send out notification of date at a later time.  It was discussed that fund raising meeting may be held in January for a possible event in the beginning of February.
