Loveland High School Baseball – Board and Booster Club Meeting Minutes

February 6, 2007

President, Laurie East, called the meeting to order.

Secretary, Brenda Orndorff, reviewed minutes from last meeting.

Treasurer, Cindy Posegate, handed out and reviewed Treasurer’s Report for January 2007.

Purchases:

There was discussion regarding gear purchases when said gear has not been paid for in advance.  It was moved by Cindy Posegate and seconded by Sue Lussenhopp that no orders for gear will be placed without prepayment for said gear.

Tryouts:

Tryouts will be held in two weeks, February 20-22, 2007.

Parent/Player Meeting:

There will be a parent/player meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2007, at LHS.  Laurie will ensure that a written notification of this meeting is sent out.  A physical, athletic packet, athletic fees, and clearance card are all required in order to tryout.

Qdoba Fund Raiser:

Kim Baca reported that she has been in contact with Qdoba and will be acquiring coupons for our players to sell for a fund raising effort.  We will receive a $9 profit for each coupon sold.    

Kim will have the coupons available for any of the players who are interested in picking them up at practice on Saturday, February 10^th.  After discussion, it was decided that all players will be asked to sell a minimum of 12 coupons each.   Each player will sign a contract indicating how many coupon sheets they have received.  In addition, they agree that all monies and unsold coupons must be returned to Kim by February 28, 2007.  The player/parents will be responsible for the full $120 at that time, whether they sell the coupons or write a check for the discrepancy. 

Other Fund Raising Ideas:

Kim Baca said she will check into another fund raising idea involving sending of letters and requests for donations. 

A spring golf tournament was also discussed.  Wayne Posegate will check into details for the Olde Course in Loveland as a possible venue.  April 20 and April 27^th were selected as the top two potential dates.  Hopefully a date will be announced at the parent meeting on the 15^th.
